About This Site – For Visitors to Nagaoka Firewoks Festival

HAJIME-MASHITE! (“Nice to meet you”)

Are you interested in Nagaoka Hanabi( Firewoks Festival)?

Nagaoka’s official fireworks website focuses on the moving story of “memorial and recovery after the war.”

But there’s so much more to Nagaoka Fireworks — a deeper history and rich culture that often go untold. If you’re visiting for the first time, you might wonder, “How do I actually go see it?” And if you’re a returning fan, you may be looking for “more historical details and background” than the official site provides.

Nagaoka Hanabi.com is here to answer those questions.
From how to get tickets and the best viewing spots, to must-try local foods, the festival’s history dating back to 1879, and cultural stories rarely covered by official sources — we present it all clearly, based on trustworthy original materials.

And the fireworks are just the beginning.
We also introduce Nagaoka’s sightseeing spots, local cuisine, and cultural experiences — from strolling the streets in a yukata, to tasting Nagaoka sake, to visiting historic sites linked to the fireworks.

Nagaoka Hanabi.com is the most detailed guide to experiencing Nagaoka Fireworks.

About the Organizer

KONNICHIWA!(Hi!)

I run Nagaoka Hanabi Dot Com. As a fireworks enthusiast, I love exploring and sharing the history and culture of the Nagaoka Fireworks.

Armed with the National Diet Library’s digital archives, old newspaper articles, and official festival records, I’ve pieced together the story of the fireworks from their very first launch in 1879 to the present day.

Recently, I’ve started sharing information for visitors from overseas — including how to get tickets, the best viewing spots, transportation tips, and must-try local foods.
I want you to experience not only the thrill of the fireworks, but also the people, culture, and stories behind them.

On social media (@hanabi0258), I share the latest updates, trivia, and sometimes fun little facts with over 3,000 fellow fireworks fans.

Oh, and one small thing… my English is still a work in progress.
So if you send me a message, please use simple English — and I promise to reply with fireworks-level enthusiasm! 🎆

Arigatou! (Thank U!)
